Senior Data Engineer (Databricks)

Main Responsibilities
You will design and deliver the data platforms our clients run their business and their AI on, combining hands-on engineering with client advisory.

• Build modern data platforms: End-to-end lakehouse architectures, mainly on Databricks, built for reliability, observability, and cost.
• Engineer pipelines: Batch and streaming pipelines with Python, Spark, and SQL, with data quality built in.
• Migrate and modernize: Move legacy warehouses and ETL to the cloud, from assessment to cut-over.
• Make data ready for AI: Governed data products and semantic layers that analytics and AI agents can rely on.
• Run it properly: Data governance, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and cost control.
• Advise and support: Translate business needs into roadmaps, coach junior engineers, and support proposals.

Candidate Profile
Engineer first, consultant second, with a track record of shipping to production.

• 5+ years in data engineering, including hands-on Databricks experience in production.
• Expert Python and SQL, with strong Spark and data modeling skills.
• Databricks Data Engineer Professional certification, or a commitment to obtain it within 6 months (we support you).
• Experience on Azure, AWS, or GCP, plus DataOps (Git, CI/CD, Terraform, testing).
• Strong consulting skills: requirements gathering, documentation, stakeholder management.
• Fluent English plus French or German (both is a plus); eligible to work in Switzerland.

Nice to have: Experience with other data platforms (Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, BigQuery), dbt, MLOps, and industry experience (consumer goods, pharma, logistics, insurance, manufacturing).
