As a Senior Quality Engineer at 3M Aycliffe you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Your role will provide key support to manufacturing, product development, validation, and change management activities.
Leading and continuously improving QMS processes to ensure compliance with corporate, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Leading audits, quality investigations, root cause analyses and CAPAs to drive effective and timely resolution.
Analysing quality metrics and trends to identify risks, improve performance, and support data-driven decisions.
Acting as a subject matter expert on quality systems, standards, and risk-based decision-making.
Mentoring junior team members and influencing cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen our quality culture.
Initiating and leading quality improvement projects that deliver measurable business impact
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:
Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
Significant experience in a quality engineering role within a regulated manufacturing or technical environment.
Demonstrated experience with quality systems, audits, non-conforming product management, CAPA, and risk‑based thinking.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑engagement skills
Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Professional quality qualifications (e.g. Certified Quality Engineer, CQI/IRCA Certified Auditor or equivalent).
Experience supporting NPI, validation, or complex technical projects.
Experience mentoring or guiding others in a quality role
Influencing and collaboration across functions
Structured problem solving
Continuous improvement mindset
May include up to 10% domestic/international travel
Relocation: Not authorized
This role has on-site working model, with the employee working at least four days a week at the Aycliffe manufacturing site in the UK
Working pattern is full time
