Job Description

Aberdeen plc is one of Europe’s largest investment companies, and we are built on a long-standing culture of caring about the future and making a positive impact. Together we invest for a better future. We do it to make a difference to the lives of our clients and customers, our employees, society, and our shareholders. Our business is structured around three distinct areas focused on our clients' changing needs: Aberdeen Investments, Aberdeen Adviser, and interactive investor.

Help shape the quality of our adviser platform and invest in your tomorrow.

About the Role

~1 min read
As a Quality Engineer within Aberdeen Adviser Product & Technology, you will play a pivotal role in embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Reporting to the Quality Engineering Chapter Lead, you will work closely with engineers, product managers and designers to champion a quality-first culture and ensure our products meet the highest standards of reliability, usability, accessibility and performance.
Working across multiple cross-functional squads, you will help define and implement testing strategies that enable teams to deliver high-quality software at pace. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on quality engineering with coaching and mentoring, helping engineers take ownership of testing while promoting best practice across the wider organisation.
You will contribute to both manual and automated testing approaches, selecting the most effective tools and frameworks for different technology stacks and delivery challenges. The role also provides the opportunity to influence the adoption of modern quality engineering practices, including shift-left testing, continuous integration and delivery, service resilience testing and emerging AI-driven testing techniques.
Based in Edinburgh and operating within our blended working model, this permanent opportunity offers the chance to shape how quality is delivered across a growing technology function while investing in your own future development.

  • Test mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms, ensuring a consistent and high-quality customer experience across channels.

  • Guide teams on performance, accessibility, security and usability testing approaches.

  • Build and evolve test frameworks and reusable automation components that support fast, reliable delivery.

  • Promote continuous improvement in testing practices, tooling and engineering standards.

  • Support and govern the adoption of AI-driven testing approaches while ensuring appropriate guardrails and human oversight.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based environments, preferably Azure, and CI/CD delivery pipelines.

  • Experience operating within agile, cross-functional product teams.
