We’re looking for a talented Mid-Level Database Administrator to play a key role in designing, developing, administering, and maintaining robust databases that support mission applications and their data storage, retrieval, and security requirements. As a Mid-Level Database Administrator, you will develop scalable and optimized database solutions, manage and secure application data, improve database performance, and support data migration, backup, and recovery processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, administer, and maintain robust databases that support application data storage, retrieval, and security requirements
  • Develop scalable, reliable, and optimized database solutions to manage and secure mission and application data
  • Design and maintain database schemas and data models that support application and mission requirements
  • Develop and maintain database implementation packages, including scripts and configuration files
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize database queries and overall database performance
  • Plan and execute data migrations while maintaining data integrity, availability, and security
  • Develop, implement, test, and document database backup and recovery processes
  • Establish and maintain database security protocols in accordance with applicable data security policies and requirements
  • Troubleshoot database performance, availability, connectivity, and data-integrity issues
  • Evaluate existing database environments and provide recommendations for modifications and enhancements that improve performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for database schemas, data models, configurations, implementation procedures, backup and recovery processes, and security protocols
  • Collaborate with application developers, system administrators, cybersecurity personnel, and other technical stakeholders to support application and mission requirements
  • Ensure database solutions and administration activities comply with applicable Defense Intelligence, cybersecurity, and data-handling requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • Intelligence Community experience required
  • Must have 8+ years’ relevant experience in database administration, database development, data management, or a related technical discipline
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, administering, and maintaining enterprise database environments
  • Experience developing and maintaining database schemas, data models, scripts, and configuration files
  • Experience with database query analysis, troubleshooting, tuning, and performance optimization
  • Experience planning and executing data migrations while protecting data integrity and availability
  • Experience developing, implementing, testing, and documenting database backup and recovery procedures
  • Knowledge of database security principles, access controls, data-protection practices, and applicable security policies
  • Ability to identify database performance or scalability concerns and recommend appropriate modifications
  • Ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a secure, mission-focused environment
  • Experience supporting databases within Department of Defense or Intelligence Community environments
  • Experience supporting database environments associated with Open-Source Intelligence applications, tools, or data
  • Experience supporting highly available, scalable, and secure database solutions
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data in complex mission environments
  • Experience collaborating with software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data-engineering teams
  • Relevant database, cloud, cybersecurity, or data-management certifications

An approximate annual salary range for this position is $80,000-$125,000. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
