ABSC is seeking a highly skilled, customer-focused Technical Account Manager (TAM) to support strategic public-sector customers as they adopt, secure, and scale Google Cloud capabilities. In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers accelerate digital transformation, avoid operational challenges, strengthen cloud infrastructure, and apply leading practices across complex government and education environments.
You will lead technical activities across multiple workstreams, build trusted relationships with technical and executive stakeholders, and coordinate across customer teams, delivery partners, Support, Product Engineering, and Site Reliability Engineering. The ideal candidate combines cloud expertise, technical program leadership, and exceptional client-management skills with the ability to bring structure and clarity to complex environments.
This position is contracted in six (6) month increments and requires the ability to travel up to 30% based on customer and mission requirements. All candidates must be local to the National Capital Region (NCR).

Responsibilities

- →Serve as a trusted technical advisor to strategic public-sector customers adopting and operating Google Cloud solutions.
- →Lead technical activities across multiple concurrent workstreams involving customer stakeholders, technical teams, and delivery partners.
- →Provide guidance focused on cloud architecture, operational excellence, security, compliance, reliability, and scalability.
- →Help customers develop and execute technical plans that accelerate cloud adoption and produce successful mission and business outcomes.
- →Identify potential technical and operational risks and recommend proactive measures to prevent or minimize service disruptions.
- →Collaborate with product and engineering teams as a customer advocate, communicating customer requirements, challenges, and priorities.
- →Advocate for new products, features, enhancements, and bug fixes that benefit government and education customers.
- →Partner with Support, Product Engineering, and Site Reliability Engineering teams to plan for customer launches, major events, migrations, and other critical activities.
- →Guide technical issues and escalations through resolution while maintaining clear communication among customers, internal teams, and delivery partners.
- →Manage relationships with technical, program, and executive stakeholders across customer organizations.
- →Lead quarterly business and technical reviews, executive sessions, planning meetings, and other customer engagements.
- →Develop tactical account plans, technical roadmaps, and actionable recommendations that support customer objectives.
- →Communicate complex cloud, software, and architectural concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- →Maintain composure and provide structured leadership during high-pressure situations, service disruptions, or complex escalations.
- →Travel to customer or partner locations as required, up to 30% of the time.
Requirements
~1 min read- United States citizenship and the ability to perform all work from within the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of four years of customer-facing experience managing Google Cloud implementations or cloud-transformation programs.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Cloud launch or capacity planning
- Product-release management
- Technical support
- Escalation management
- Technical consulting
- Cloud-transformation program delivery
- Minimum of one year of hands-on experience with modern software-development practices, microservices-based architectures, distributed systems, and APIs across a broad range of use cases.
- Must hold at least one Google Cloud professional-level certification.
- Ability to travel up to 30% based on customer and mission requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders at multiple levels of an organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, problem-solving, organizational, and client-management skills.
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and solution-focused during high-pressure situations.
- Ability to bring structure, prioritization, and clear direction to complex or ambiguous environments.

- Experience supporting U.S. Government, public-sector, or education customers.
- Experience serving as a trusted technical advisor to senior technical leaders and executives.
- Strong understanding of Google Cloud services, architecture, operations, security, and compliance.
- Experience leading cloud adoption, migration, modernization, or digital-transformation initiatives.
- Experience coordinating across cloud support, product engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, and customer delivery teams.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture frameworks and leading practices for reliability, security, performance, operational excellence, and cost management.
- Experience managing high-visibility technical escalations and complex customer environments.
- Experience developing technical account plans, strategic roadmaps, executive briefings, and quarterly business or technical reviews.
- Familiarity with government security, compliance, data-protection, and cloud-accreditation requirements.
- Additional Google Cloud certifications or other relevant cloud, technical, or program-management credentials.
Salary is commensurate with education and years of experience. Salary range for this requisition is $115k - $210k annual.
