We are looking for an experienced OFSS Commissioning Engineer to join our team and support the commissioning activities of a major offshore wind farm project in the UK.
The position will initially be based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, where the successful candidate will support project preparation and commissioning activities. During the subsequent phase of the project, the position will move to the United Kingdom, supporting the commissioning activities of the offshore substation.
The role will focus on the Offshore Substation (OFSS) and will require close coordination with engineering, construction, installation and commissioning teams.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Plan, coordinate and supervise Offshore Substation (OFSS) commissioning activities.
- →Support the development and implementation of commissioning strategies, procedures and schedules.
- →Review commissioning procedures, test protocols, method statements and technical documentation.
- →Coordinate commissioning activities between engineering, construction, installation and commissioning contractors.
- →Supervise and support the testing and commissioning of electrical systems and offshore substation equipment.
- →Monitor commissioning progress and identify technical issues, risks and interfaces.
- →Ensure commissioning activities are performed safely and in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications and applicable standards.
- →Support the resolution of technical issues identified during testing and commissioning.
- →Review test results and ensure commissioning records and documentation are correctly completed.
- →Participate in inspections, FAT and SAT activities and system handover.
- →Support punch-list management and final handover of systems.
- →Coordinate interfaces between the offshore substation and associated electrical systems.
- →Prepare commissioning progress reports and provide regular updates to the project team.
- →Support offshore commissioning activities in the UK during the later stages of the project.
Requirements
~1 min read- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Proven experience in electrical commissioning, preferably involving HV substations or offshore substations.
- Previous experience in offshore wind, offshore energy, power transmission or large-scale energy infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of HV electrical systems, protection and control, switchgear, transformers and substation equipment.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
- Experience working in international and multicultural project environments.
- Fluent/professional English – essential.
- Willingness and availability to relocate/travel from Rotterdam to the UK according to project requirements.
- Availability to work offshore when required during the commissioning phase.
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive and safety-oriented approach.
