Senior Full Stack Developer (Java+React)

This is a Full Stack Engineer role focused on designing, developing and maintaining business-critical Capital Markets applications. The role spans the full software development lifecycle — from analysis and development to testing, release and production support — in close collaboration with Belgium-based stakeholders and cross-functional Agile teams. We are hiring across seniority levels, from Junior to Senior.

What You'll Do

● Design, develop and maintain full stack applications using React.js on the frontend and Java Spring Boot on the backend;

● Build, enhance and maintain REST APIs and integrations between internal and external systems;

● Contribute across the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing and release activities;

● Perform incident investigation, root cause analysis and support critical production environments;

● Apply software engineering best practices: code quality, unit and integration testing, debugging and secure coding standards;

● Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning and release management activities;

● Support planned deployments and participate in on-call production support activities when required.

What You'll Need

Qualifications

● University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field;

● 3+ years of experience in software engineering or full stack development roles;

● Experience in production support, incident management and Agile delivery is valued;

● Experience in Banking or Financial Markets is a plus.

Technical Skills

● Frontend: React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS;

● Backend: Java, Spring Boot, OOP fundamentals and SOLID principles;

● REST APIs design and consumption; API integrations;

● SQL and relational databases; RDBMS tools such as SQL Server;

● Testing & debugging: unit tests, integration tests, code quality best practices;

● Authentication & authorization concepts, including OpenID Connect; secure coding practices;

● Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git — valued;

● Azure Cloud concepts; event-driven architecture concepts — valued;

● Tools: IntelliJ IDEA / VS Code, Postman, Git, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, MS Office.

Profile & Other Requirements

● Professional English C1 (spoken and written) — mandatory;

● French and/or Dutch is a plus;

● Strong collaboration and communication skills — daily interaction with stakeholders required;

● Proactive mindset with continuous learning attitude and adaptability;

● Generalizing-specialist mindset — ability to work across different applications and technologies;

● Willingness for on-call support and availability for planned deployments during evenings and weekends when required;

● Experience in regulated environments (e.g., Financial Services) is a plus;

● Lisbon/Portugal-based — hybrid working model.

Must own a valid work permit or EU/Schengen Space nationality to legally work in Portugal.
