We are seeking an experienced engineering manager to lead our Infrastructure Platform Engineering team in Pune, India, which operates as part of our global Site Reliability Engineering organization.
This team includes Infrastructure Platform Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers who support reliable, scalable, and well-operated cloud platforms and production environments.
The Manager, Infrastructure Platform Engineering will own the performance, development, prioritization, and day-to-day effectiveness of the India-based team. You will also serve as a key representative for the Infrastructure Platform Engineering team within the India office, working closely with software engineers, data scientists, program managers, release teams, and other technology stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is a proven people manager with a solid technical foundation in cloud-native infrastructure, including Kubernetes and containerized platforms, and a background in platform engineering or site reliability engineering. You should be comfortable managing technical teams, understanding operational challenges, facilitating cross-team discussions, and making sure priorities and expectations are clear.
Note: There will be 2–3 hours of daily overlap with US Pacific Time
Team Leadership

Manage, coach, and develop a team of Infrastructure Platform Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers through regular 1:1s, performance feedback, goal setting, and career development.

Set clear expectations and development plans that grow engineers toward greater technical ownership, communication skills, and independence.

Own the team’s day-to-day execution, workload prioritization, and delivery commitments.

Lead hiring and onboarding as the team grows.

Collaborate with TechOps leaders to define and maintain the team’s operating standards, including on-call, change management, incident response, and post-incident follow-up, in line with global SRE and Platform Engineering practices.

Lead the team’s incident response and work with Problem Management to drive corrective actions to completion.

Balance operational responsibilities, project work, automation, technical debt, and reliability improvements.

Identify recurring operational challenges and drive lasting improvements with the team and partner technical leads.

Serve as the primary infrastructure engineering representative within the India office.

Build working relationships with software engineering, data science, program management, release teams, and other partner organizations, and resolve priorities and dependencies across teams.

Represent the team in planning, release, and operational discussions, making sure reliability, supportability, and operational concerns are raised early and addressed.

Keep the India team aligned with the broader global Platform Engineering organization.
Operational Excellence
Cross-Team Partnership

8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or a related discipline (Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Operations), including 3+ years of direct management of engineering or technical teams.

Prior or current hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments.

Experience with public cloud platforms; Azure and AWS experience preferred.

Familiarity with production systems, monitoring and observability, incident management, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and automation.

Experience supporting teams that operate business-critical production systems.

Enough technical depth to understand infrastructure and reliability issues, communicate effectively with engineers, and make informed management decisions.

People-management skills, including coaching, feedback, performance management, and career development.

Organizational and prioritization skills, with sound judgment around operational risk, escalation, and resource allocation.

Experience coordinating work across multiple teams and stakeholder groups, including software development, data science, release engineering, and program management.

Experience working in a geographically distributed, global engineering organization.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
