Afori's vision is to ensure every human has the right cover at the right time. Our founders previously built insurance unicorn wefox and are now building the AI layer for insurance brokers: agents that plug directly into brokers' daily workflows and take over the back-office work that eats more than 60% of their time. We already save brokers over 2.5 hours a day, freeing them up to do what actually grows the business: advising customers well.

The opportunity is massive: the global protection gap is €1.3 trillion, and insurance distribution still runs on manual processes. Sequoia recently mapped AI-native services opportunities and ranked insurance brokerage first, a $140-200B market. We raised a €4M pre-seed led by General Catalyst, backed by investors and operators including Mustafa Suleyman (CEO, Microsoft AI) and Alex Rinke (Co-CEO, Celonis)

You ship to production in your first weeks, and your code powers agents that read policies and handle claims and insurer correspondence for real brokers. You start with well-scoped features and grow into owning them end to end, from the first conversation about what a broker needs to the moment it runs in production. How fast that happens is up to you. We hire for the person you will be in two years, and we give you the room and the problems to get there.

Responsibilities

→Build agents that take real work off a broker's desk: reading policies, handling claims, answering insurer correspondence. Your measure of success is hours given back to brokers.
→Help build the platform those agents run on, so that each new agent is faster to build and more reliable than the last.
→Own features from idea to production. You'll work alongside product and business, and over time you'll lead those conversations yourself.
→Work with coding agents as your default. They do the typing and the toil; you keep the judgement and own the outcome.
→Make your own tooling take on more of your work each week: skills, agents and automations you build for yourself.
→Ship what is good enough today. Get right what has to be right.

We don't count years. We are looking for drive, ambition and the potential to grow fast, not a decade in a large company. If you graduated recently and have real projects behind you, this role is for you.
You have shipped software in NodeJS/TypeScript that real people depended on.
You have built things from zero before: a startup, an early-team role, or projects of your own with real users. More than once is a plus.
You want to grow faster than a normal job would let you, and you're ready to take on more than your title says. You want to spend the next years on one hard problem.
Coding agents are already how you work. You delegate the work, keep the thinking, and after each iteration you ask how more of it could run on its own.
You care about the engineering decisions and whether the solution holds, and you can explain why you made each choice. Line-by-line perfection is beside the point.
Low ego, high ownership. You see what needs doing and you do it.
Fluent in English. German a plus.
