We’re a team of engineers focused on making it easier for Agoda’s developers to build, deploy, and operate software at scale. We own core developer platforms and tools from source control and CI/CD to service discovery and deployment and continually improve their reliability, security, and ease of use. Our work spans software engineering, DevOps, and people leadership, with the opportunity to shape technical direction and support a wide engineering community. Together, we tackle complex challenges, strengthen engineering practices, and help teams across Agoda deliver with confidence. 

The DevOps Engineering Manager role at Agoda is one of the most significant and challenging roles at the company. The right candidate is both extremely hands on – technically excellent, with solid engineering principles and exhibits strong leadership and people development skills.

DevOps Engineering team is tasked with creating automation into the Software Development Lifecycle concerning all Agoda’s R&D. The team is responsible for maintaining all central Dev-related tooling chain and develop internal tools/Web Portals in order to increase development efficiency and security. The impact of this engineering team affects all development in Agoda.

In this role, you’ll get to:

• Lead hands-on software development across design, coding, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Build developer platforms and internal tools that improve engineering productivity.
• Scale CI/CD and security automation across approximately 1 million pipelines per month.
• Own core developer systems, including source control, CI, service discovery, and deployment platforms.
• Bridge software development and operations to improve reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
• Set technical direction and drive engineering best practices.
• Coach and grow engineers while building a high-performing team.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Lead an engineering team with at least 5 direct reports.
• Demonstrate strong software development experience across the full SDLC.
• Code confidently in a modern language, preferably Go or Python.
• Build software systems, internal platforms, or developer tools.
• Apply CI/CD, DevOps, containerisation, and cloud-native practices.
• Use technologies such as Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Make autonomous, data-driven decisions and take ownership of outcomes.
• Manage Agile or Scrum teams effectively.

It’s great if you have:

• Built developer platforms or engineering productivity tools.
• Developed full-stack applications using React.js and Go.
• Worked with Kubernetes, Ansible, Consul, or Vault.
• Used SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL or Elasticsearch.
• Improved observability, platform reliability, security automation, or developer experience.
