Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.
Supporting the project manager of DCS modernization, the Process Control Project Engineer is responsible for leading the design, implementation, of new or upgrades of DCS projects. The candidate will manage the technical scope of automation projects from initial scoping through design, installation, commissioning, and final handover to operations; always under the management of the project manager. They will also be the main coordinator with vendors during the design phase and execution phase.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related technical field required.
Requirements
~1 min readExperience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in process control, automation engineering, and project management within an industrial environment.
Technical Skills: * Proficiency in programming and configuring PLCs/DCS/SCADA (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell).
Strong understanding of field instrumentation, motor controls, and industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical drawings.
Project Skills: Proven track record of successfully managing contractors.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience with process safety management, safety instrumented systems (SIS), and relevant standards (e.g., ISA-88, ISA-95, IEC 61511).
Experience integrating OT (Operational Technology) with IT networks.
The perimeter of the CTE (Center for Technical Expertise) is the Large Industries in North America and supports beyond LI-NAM when available.
Must be able to work in both an office environment and at production facilities.
Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in industrial areas.
50+% travel are required to vendor sites or other company facilities
