The Electrical Principal Engineer provides advanced technical leadership and execution oversight for electrical engineering activities supporting global Air Separation Unit (ASU) projects. The role ensures safe, reliable, and cost‑effective electrical engineering deliverables while developing team capability and supporting predictable project execution.
· Serve as senior technical authority for electrical engineering within ASU execution teams.
· Supervise and mentor engineers and designers delivering electrical scope for global ASU projects.
· Provide strong domain expertise in MV/LV systems, grounding, protection, motor control, and hazardous area classification.
· Ensure adherence to Air Products standards, engineering work processes, and global codes (IEC/IEEE/NFPA/IS).
· Coordinate engineering integration with mechanical, piping, PACO, civil/structural, and process disciplines.
· Support design reviews, constructability assessments, vendor interactions, and technical clarifications.
· Contribute to digital engineering adoption, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities

· Review and approve SLDs, schematics, load lists, cable schedules, grounding studies, and protection coordination.
· Develop and validate electrical equipment specifications for transformers, motors, switchgear, MCCs, and drives.
· Drive resolution of complex electrical engineering issues across all project phases.
· Support vendor evaluations, FAT activities, and supplier document reviews.
· Provide engineering support during construction, energization, commissioning, and start‑up.
· Ensure constructability and maintainability are integrated into electrical designs.
· Champion team capability growth aligned with Supervisor level Our Way of Leading behaviors.
Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
· 10–15 years of electrical engineering experience with strong ASU or process industry background.
· Supervisory experience managing electrical engineers and designers.
· Advanced expertise in MV/LV distribution, grounding, protection systems, and hazardous area design.
· Proficiency with IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and IS codes.
· Experience with electrical analysis tools such as ETAP or SKM.
· Strong communication, problem‑solving, and multi‑discipline collaboration skills.
Preferred:
· Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
· Experience working in EPC/EPCM global execution environments.
· Experience with 3D model integration and digital engineering systems.
Licenses / Certifications:
· Chartered Engineer (CEng), Professional Engineer (PE), or equivalent (Preferred).

· Ensure compliance with environmental and statutory regulations for electrical installations.
Standard business hours; with flexibility for global coordination, project peaks, critical milestones and reporting.
0–10% domestic or international travel for reviews, supplier meetings, site support. May also be deputed for short/long term site assignment based on project requirements.
