Platform Engineer

At ClubScope, we're building an analytics and AI insights platform that gives country club operators real-time, trusted visibility into their business. Our prototype is already delivering value—now we're looking for a Platform Engineer to establish the engineering foundations that will enable our team to build, deploy, and scale with confidence.

This is a hands-on contract opportunity where you'll work directly with the CTO to design and implement the platform, tooling, and processes that power our engineering organization.

• Collaboration: Directly with the CTO and founding engineering team

• →Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• →Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform (Terragrunt is a plus).
• →Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for scalable AWS environments.
• →Establish developer tooling and engineering best practices.
• →Implement observability and monitoring using tools such as Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Sentry, CloudTrail, or similar.
• →Build engineering workflows that support AI-assisted development (Claude Code and AI agents).
• →Create reliable deployment pipelines that enable fast, safe, and repeatable software releases.
• →Collaborate with the CTO on cloud architecture, security, and platform strategy.

• Strong experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS and Terraform.
• Experience building and managing GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, including OIDC/keyless deployments.
• Experience implementing observability solutions (Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Sentry, CloudTrail, or equivalent).
• Proven experience creating high-quality engineering environments with:
  • Test-first development / BDD
  • Code review processes
  • CI/CD quality gates
  • Clean code standards
• Passion for AI-assisted software development and modern engineering workflows.

• Experience managing multi-environment deployments (Development, Staging, Production).
• Multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure experience.
• Knowledge of infrastructure security best practices, IAM, secrets management, and supply-chain security.
• Experience with GDPR, PII protection, or compliance-focused infrastructure.
• Experience taking products from prototype to production.
