Are you a compassionate, effective communicator who understands that individuals can enjoy a better life when they feel safe, supported, accepted for who they are, and right at home?

Would you like a leadership role (with advancement opportunities) that helps our organization optimize the quality of life for the individuals with autism in our IRA residences?

As a Shift Supervisor, you’ll work under the direction of the Residence Manager, serving as the go-to “professional in charge” during your scheduled shifts. This is an important, rewarding position; you’ll empower, motivate, and inspire other team members to maintain a safe, clean-living environment, maintain approved staff-to-individual ratios, ensure compliance, and shape the culture within the IRA.

From supporting skill development and daily living activities to facilitating meaningful activities and cultivating the development of trusted relationships, you can give the individuals we serve the strong, stable foundation they deserve (while also bringing their families peace of mind).

And as part of our team at Anderson, you’ll likewise get to feel right at home - and with new doors potentially opening as time goes on! Among other benefits, we offer team members clearly defined paths for career advancement, extensive paid time off, retirement plans with employer match, and the chance to share a true sense of purpose in a community we hope you’ll enjoy for years to come.

What You Will Do as a Shift Supervisor:

  • You will create a safe, nurturing, professional environment as you offer support and assistance to individuals with autism as they engage in various daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational experiences.
  • You will help cultivate a sense of belonging and spirit of acceptance that will promote personal growth, socialization, and autonomy.
  • You will attend to the educational, physical, social, and emotional needs of residents, while assisting the team with goal-oriented and structured daily programming and data collection in an assigned service delivery area.
  • You will help implement individualized support plans and behavioral strategies under the guidance of supervisors and experienced professionals.
  • You will maintain accurate records/documentation of progress (and any incidents) in accordance with all organizational policies and procedures.
  • You will help program participants gain an understanding of social, daily living, and self-advocacy skills that help them more fully thrive.
  • You will make sure that routines and systems are consistently followed in the IRA during your shift.
  • You will ensure that activities and opportunities are provided that will support the highest quality of life possible for individuals (using the eight domains outlined in the QofL agency guidelines).
  • You will perform duties as indicated by Program Administrators in the absence of the Residence Manager.
  • You will have a chance - every single day - to make life richer and more meaningful for the people in your care.
  • Dependability, integrity, compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to protect the safety and well-being of individuals with autism.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team.
  • The ability to adapt to changing situations, and to handle challenging circumstances with empathy, unconditional positive regard for individuals you serve, and unwavering professionalism.
  • Alignment with our mission and values.
  • An openness to mentorship and ongoing guidance as you navigate your role.
  • Dedication to optimizing the quality of life for everyone who is part of our Anderson Center for Autism community.
