Summer 2027 Process Engineer Intern- Master's (Santa Clara, CA)

TEAM OVERVIEW: Applied Materials’ AGS surface technology team will be hiring an intern to join our team in Spring/Summer 2026. Surface technology team is responsible for developing surface treatments on equipment components like recycle cleanings and passivation to execute applied material’s service business for customers. In this process, surface technology conducts hands-on work in chemistry lab, working with various metrology tools, documenting the procedures and coming up with innovative ideas to accelerate the recycle cleaning business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assist with laboratory projects and develop analysis methods for complicated issues. * Conduct parts and materials analysis, like SEM, Laser Microscope, and other analysis tools. * Work with project owners and conduct communication HW development, troubleshooting, and functionality test * Support experiment data acquisition and processing, and report. REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION: * Student must be pursuing a Master's degree program in Science or Engineering area, e.g. Materials, Chemicals and Physics etc. * PhD's also considered * Hands on experience on Materials characterization. * Familiar with materials processing. * Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale preferred Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
