This position oversees the entry, investigation, reporting of status, and resolution of all Customer Claims filed against the Lancaster Sheet Mill, ensuring that claims are accurately settled in a timely and complete manner.  The incumbent also is required to monitor claims through final closure, as well as file relevant documents relating to claims against Lancaster's suppliers that directly affect the quality of our product; i.e. Freight Companies, Ingot Suppliers, Paint Suppliers, Outside Processors, and Warehouses.  Additionally, the MQS Administrative Support Specialist oversees the EtQ Document Management System, the Lancaster Paint (PCRR) System, and provides support for External Customer Audits. The incumbent also provides administrative support to the MQS Manager, as well as ad hoc support to other members of the Lancaster MQS Team and others if directed by the MQS Manager.

  • This position is responsible for issuing approximately $10 million in claims credits per year and must work to maintain good customer relations through fair, equitable, and timely resolution of claims to prevent a negative impact on revenue. 
  • This position is responsible for oversight of EtQ document control system deployment and maintenance for the Lancaster facility. 
  • This position is responsible for the oversight of the paint code assignments system (PCRR) and the associated product data sheets (PDS) for the Paint Line product.
  • This position is responsible for the coordination of external customer audits.
  • This position is also responsible for the following department tasks:
    • Maintains office equipment and supplies as well as scheduling and maintaining of meeting rooms.
    • Maintains the department staff calendar to include employee vacations and other key events such as customer visits, external audits, etc.
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution 

  • 1 year experience in areas of claims, accounting, accounts payable or customer service

  • 1 year experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word)

  • Associate's degree in business administration or other business-related field.
  • 2 years experience in areas of claims, accounting, accounts payable or customer service
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization, including customers and external personnel
  • Familiarity with mainframe data systems such as AS400, and query tools
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and validate data
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems
