About the Education Collaborative
The Education Collaborative spearheads a model of collective engagement that promises to significantly reshape higher education outcomes for students. This transformative scale initiative adopts a network approach that fosters trust and collective commitments among higher education leaders and stakeholders to generate sustainable results within the systems they govern and influence. By 2030, The Education Collaborative aims to build a 140-member network that serves at least one million students, educating ethical, entrepreneurial leaders capable of creating jobs, advancing industries, and driving economic growth across Africa. Our focal areas reflect the pressing developmental needs and trends in higher education in Africa. Currently covering trending needs in entrepreneurship and employability development, ethics and leadership, and faculty development and research.

Role Purpose
The Hub Programmes and Operations Coordinator provides essential administrative, operational, and coordination support to ensure the effective delivery of Hub activities and member engagements. The role supports the Director and Operations team by coordinating meetings and events, maintaining accurate records and tracking tools, and supporting communication and engagement with member institutions. Through strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail, the coordinator helps ensure that Hub programs, committees, and convenings run smoothly, and that progress against the annual work plan is consistently tracked and reported.
Key Responsibility Areas
Administrative & Coordination Support
- Coordinate calendars, meetings, virtual sessions, travel, and logistics for Hub committees and member engagements.
- Prepare and organize agendas, briefing notes, minutes, presentations, and follow-up materials in line with established standards.
- Maintain well-organized digital filing systems and records.
- Support the Director with inputs and documentation for quarterly and annual performance updates.
Member Engagement & Records Management
- Maintain accurate databases of Hub members, engagement activities, and participation.
- Coordinate member communications and Comms Connect engagements for Associate and Consortium members.
- Support member status progression processes and compile periodic status updates.
- Track and maintain records of Hub-supported grants and related initiatives.
Operations & Event Support
- Support planning and delivery of Hub events, workshops, and convenings, including venues, travel, accommodation, catering, and vendors, in collaboration with the Operations team.
- Maintain and update operational checklists to support consistent and efficient delivery of recurring Hub activities.
Monitoring, Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain tracking tools for Hub activities aligned with the annual work plan.
- Monitor progress of activities and flag delays or deviations for follow-up.
- Collect and compile feedback and outcomes from Hub events and member engagements, including partnerships, initiatives, and progression milestones.
- Maintain an up-to-date overview of Hub engagements across initiatives and programs within The Education Collaborative.
- Be on top of, and know about, all Southern Africa hub engagements in ALL initiatives and programs in the Education Collaborative
Other responsibilities as assigned by Director in line with role.
Relevant Skills and Qualifications
- At least a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Education, Project Management, or a related field.
- Prior experience in project or program coordination, operations support, or stakeholder engagement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse institutions and partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with project management and virtual collaboration tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and track progress across activities.
- Experience supporting research, data collection, or synthesis of findings is an advantage.
- Excellent writing and documentation skills for reports, meeting summaries, and event documentation.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage administrative processes efficiently.
