LEGENDS GLOBAL, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for an Operations Coordinator to support daily operations of the ice rink facility and help ensure a safe, clean, and customer-focused environment. This role assists with staff supervision, program and event coordination, facility standards, equipment oversight, and revenue growth initiatives. The Operations Coordinator serves as a key leader during assigned shifts and acts on behalf of the Operations Manager when needed. Duties are performed personally or through subordinate staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily rink operations, including public skating, hockey, figure skating, and special events.
  • Operate and monitor ice plant schedules and settings in accordance with ice rental and seasonal needs.
  • Oversee ice plant maintenance and repairs conducted by refrigeration technicians and contractors.
  • Monitor ice quality and coordinate resurfacing schedules.
  • Ensure facility cleanliness, safety, and compliance with all regulations.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Record and log all work performed, complete work orders and compile all required reports in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain proper use of LEGENDS GLOBAL’s Altum system for work orders, preventive maintenance, and asset tracking.
  • Coordinates shutdown and start-ups of utilities when necessary.
  • Works with outside vendors and contractors in maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment.
  • Ensures compliance with Cal/OSHA, OSHA, NFPA and all other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Supervise front-line staff including skate guards, rink attendants, concessions, and guest services.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training employees.
  • Prepare shift schedules and manage payroll accuracy.
  • Enforce policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty as assigned.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Directly supervises employees in the Oak Park Ice Rink. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with LEGENDS GLOBAL's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • 3+ years of ice rink facility experience.
  • Requires a high school diploma/GED.
  • Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle.
  • OSHA safety certification is preferred.

  • Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Knowledge of ice rink operations and equipment preferred.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have sufficient computer skills to operate BMS / other automated systems.  Applicants should have adequate knowledge of normal business applications such as Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Adobe, et cetera.

This position requires heavy lifting, climbing, carrying, stooping, crawling and equipment operation. The position requires work both indoors and outdoors and is subject to adverse conditions.
