The Laboratory Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of the clinical laboratory. This role encompasses personnel leadership, technical oversight, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards. The manager is also accountable for maintaining quality assurance, overseeing personnel training, competency, and development. As a subject matter expert, the Laboratory Operations Manager serves as a valuable resource for lab team members, medical staff, and other hospital departments.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science and four years training and experience in high- complexity testing in the respective specialty; OR Master's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science and two years training and experience in high- complexity testing in the respective specialty
- Nationally recognized medical technology certification, credentials
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory
- A minimum of 2 years as a generalist in a clinical laboratory
Requirements

- Must meet CLIA personnel requirements for technical
- Accurate performance and collection of tests while maintaining patient
- Requires advanced knowledge of clinical laboratory practice across all major disciplines.
- Effectively reads, writes, speaks, and understands English; possesses strong telephone, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast paced environment while staying organized and demonstrating attention to detail.
- Competent in the use of e-mail and office software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
