About This Position
This position leads citywide property management and trades/maintenance operations for Austin Facilities Management. It oversees building system reliability, preventive and corrective maintenance, major contracts, and budget planning while managing a large, multidisciplinary workforce. The position ensures safe, efficient facility operations, supports capital improvement efforts, coordinates with City departments and partners, and drives continuous improvement across a diverse municipal portfolio.

Certification in one or more of the following: Real Property Administrator (RPA), IFMA Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facilities Management Administrator (FMA), Certified Property Manager (CPM), Certified Green Building Professional (CGBP), Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certification, or other green building professional credentials or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment.

Professional facilities management experience overseeing large, multidisciplinary teams across dispersed worksites in a municipal/government setting.

Experience developing operational standards, policies, and performance‑measurement systems.
- Monday- Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Hours may vary depending on work demands and business needs.
- Evening, weekend and holiday work may be required.

Salary - $91,080.00 - $117,000.00 Annually

Driving Requirement:
This position requires a Valid Texas Driver's License or the ability to obtain one by your hire date.
External new hires must meet the City of Austin's Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) requisite (e.g., no more than 3 moving violations or 6 points in the last 36 months).
Essential/Critical Employee Designation:
Some positions are designated as Critical or Essential. Employees in these roles are required to report to work during emergencies or when operations are modified. This may include working from a designated site or an alternative work location.
Work Conditions:
Work hours may vary based on operational needs and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, or on-call assignments.
Must have the ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
A skills assessment may be required as part of the hiring process.
Veteran Preference:
Veteran candidates must provide a copy of their DD-214 at the interview to receive the veteran’s preference.
