This team plays a key role in helping the business improve service delivery, strengthen operational capabilities, and support future-focused initiatives for policyholders. The environment is cross-functional, delivery-focused, and centered on building strong partnerships across business and technology teams.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a hybrid schedule requiring onsite presence Tuesday and Wednesday in Glen Allen, VA. The role offers the chance to support meaningful technology and business transformation initiatives while partnering closely with senior leaders, business stakeholders, and PMO team members.
- Lead cross-functional project teams through complex technology and business transformation initiatives.
- Apply structured project delivery methods, including PMI, Agile/LEAN, and SDLC-based approaches.
- Manage project scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, communications, resources, and supplier coordination.
- Partner with PMO peers to integrate project plans, align workstreams, and coordinate execution across large initiatives.
- Conduct research, analysis, and cost-benefit evaluations to support project recommendations and business decisions.
- Prepare and deliver clear written and verbal project updates for senior management and business leaders.
- Build collaborative project teams that can identify business opportunities, resolve issues, and drive measurable outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
- Strong experience leading customer-focused projects across business and technology groups.
- Demonstrated ability to gather, document, and define business scope in partnership with business stakeholders.
- Strong planning, organization, execution, and deadline-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including written updates, verbal communication, interpersonal influence, and presentations.
- Strong analytical thinking and business problem-solving ability.
- Experience with large IT projects or business transformation initiatives preferred.
- PMI CAPM or PMP certification preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Project and Visio, or similar project planning and process-mapping tools, preferred.
