The Maintenance Technician II is a skilled maintenance position requiring the individual to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal assistance. This position requires the ability to serve as the sole maintenance resource during certain periods.
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing equipment as needed, and documenting maintenance and repairs performed on production lines and equipment during the shift.
The Maintenance Technician II must possess considerable skills, knowledge, and experience working with electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems within a large, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities

- →Ensure production lines and other equipment are properly maintained and operational.
- →Maintain guarding and safety equipment on all production lines.
- →Follow required Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, including isolating all forms of energy and applying appropriate personal locks.
- →Depending on plant needs, support and assist with preventive maintenance activities during the shift.
- →Contribute to and assist with production line commissioning following maintenance or process events.
- →Assist with plant projects as needed.
- →Operate in a manner that provides value to the team.
- →Interact with vendors and equipment manufacturers as needed.
- →Perform additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision or management.
Requirements
~1 min read- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of experience in a similar maintenance position.
- Stick and wire welding experience.
- Forklift experience or the ability to complete the required forklift certification program.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal assistance.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and work with:
- Electrical systems
- Electronic systems
- Motor controllers and drives
- Mechanical systems
- Hydraulic systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Electrical and mechanical drawings/schematics
Additional technical knowledge includes:
- Strong experience with manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions and work cross-functionally.
- Experience planning, executing, and managing projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across different levels of the organization.
- Completion of a two-year Maintenance Certification program.
- Structural welding certification.
- Working knowledge of extrusion processes, twin-screw setup, and blending systems.
- Knowledge of PLC logic and technology.
