Afinitas is expanding and launching a new satellite technical office in Des Moines, Iowa, and we're looking for Mechanical Engineers at all experience levels to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll be involved in the full product lifecycle, from concept development and design through manufacturing support and continuous improvement.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • →Developing innovative machine and equipment concepts
  • →Creating detailed designs, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
  • →Performing engineering analysis and design calculations
  • →Developing and maintaining bills of material (BOMs)
  • →Evaluating and implementing design improvements
  • →Collaborating with manufacturing teams to support equipment builds and process improvements
  • →Working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, sourcing, and project management teams
  • →Utilizing SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other engineering tools to develop customer-focused solutions

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience ranging from entry-level through senior engineering positions
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD platforms
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment
