Program Manager

The primary responsibility of this role is to drive the execution and coordination of one or more major projects critical to Distribution network optimization / operations strategy. Specific areas of focus for program management include maintenance of the master project schedule and budget, ensuring robust communication between cross-functional/cross-site/cross-region team members, regular status reporting to key stakeholders, and off-cycle issue escalation as required.

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

• →Employs standard project management tools to ensure proper organizational structure, project planning/scheduling, budgeting, and governance.
• →Ensures that all routine team meetings and other communication are occurring at required intervals to ensure program success.
• →Utilizes communication tools and documentation for stakeholders such as Monthly Dashboards, Annual Scorecards, Key Decision Documentation and Quarterly updates, as well as periodic cross-team/function updates and workshops.
• →Manages project risk assessments, mitigation plans and problem solving efforts, and directs project resources to focus on the development and implementation of strategic plans.
• →Coordinates business process integration across project team locations.
• →Addresses legal and regulatory project issues globally via the appropriate team members and other Waters employees.
• →Tracks product global demand vs capacity vs project schedule with key commercial and planning stakeholders, and escalates to leadership for awareness and action, to meet customer demand.
• →Owns the capital and expense budget as defined in the approved project; addresses gaps and challenges as required to keep the project on track. Meets financial business demands over the years of the project.
• →Organizes the ongoing technical transfer process for current and future phases.
• →Leads and escalates issues to the Network Optimization Steering Committee and/or Global Operations Leadership as required.
• →Ensures that all Change Management and Knowledge Transfer activities are planned and executed to deliver on program commitments.
• →Partners with the receiving Plant Manager to build the organization, budget, training, and all other program requirements to ensure a successful startup.
• →Facilitates effective communication between team members. Leads resolution of team specific issues and escalates issues as appropriate.
• →Travel up to 50% of the time, both domestically and internationally, and maintain a flexible work schedule to support global business needs across multiple regions and time zones.

• Bachelor's degree with a preferred focus business, science or engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive supply chain operations leadership experience
• Minimum 3 years experience managing projects within Distribution roles, or in dedicated Supply Chain or Distribution Project/Program Management roles in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, device, or diagnostic industry
• Demonstrated ability to lead and drive change effectively in global business environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to influence without authority
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation and meeting facilitation skills across all levels of the organization
• Strong goal setting, and ability to work efficiently and effectively to meet tight timelines
• Demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues in a timely manner
• Effective analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, including financial analyses and risk identification/mitigation
• Ability to work effectively with different cultures
• Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork and motivate and manage exempt level personnel
• Strong inclination and passion for continuous improvement

• MBA or master’s degree in science or engineering
• PMP certification
