Beloit Health System is looking to add a Orthopedic Schegistrar to our Team!

  • Shift: 1st
  • Schedule: 8a - 4:30p
  • Hours per week: 40

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Orthopedic Schegistrar to join our growing orthopedic practice. This role serves as a vital link between patients, providers, and clinical staff by coordinating appointment scheduling, patient registration, insurance verification, and administrative support functions. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient service.

  • Schedule new and follow-up orthopedic patient appointments accurately and efficiently.
  • Register patients and maintain accurate demographic, insurance, and medical information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations as required.
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and imaging appointments.
  • Collect and document patient information while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage appointment confirmations, cancellations, and rescheduling requests.
  • Assist patients with forms, paperwork, and payment-related questions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, and office staff to ensure efficient patient flow and scheduling accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare scheduling, patient registration, customer service, or medical office administration.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
