• Lead and mentor a team of three experienced backend engineers, supporting their professional growth and day-to-day work while dedicating 30–50% of your time to hands-on development.
• Lead the design and development of core software infrastructure and reusable backend components in Python.
• Work with Data teams to build infrastructure for data integration and processing, supporting streaming and batch workflows.
• Own team planning, prioritization and delivery, balancing ongoing development with long-term architectural improvements.
• Stay closely involved in architecture, code reviews and complex technical challenges, maintaining high standards for code quality, testing and reliability.
• Lead AI adoption across the software development lifecycle, including developing AI agents and integrating them into engineering infrastructure and workflows.
• Collaborate with Backend, DevOps and Data teams to improve performance, scalability and reliability in production.

• Proven experience managing a software development team and leading technical projects from design through production.
• 7+ years of Python development experience, with a strong background in backend engineering.
• Experience designing and developing scalable backend systems and shared software infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, software architecture and performance optimization.
• Experience developing and maintaining services in cloud and containerized environments.
• Ability to make technical decisions, manage priorities and help engineers solve complex problems.
• Strong communication skills and experience working across engineering and data teams.

• Experience with data pipelines, streaming systems or batch processing.
• Experience integrating AI agents into software development workflows.
• Experience with Django, FastAPI or Flask.
• Familiarity with AWS services and Docker, ECS or Kubernetes.
• Experience with observability, CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
