F-22 Lead System Designer

The Boeing F-22 Raptor team is seeking a Lead System Designer in Berkeley, MO to join the F-22 Raptor Mission System Design Team with a focus on developing cutting edge engineering solutions to continue to advance the world’s premier air superiority fighter, located in Berkeley, MO.

The Lead System Designer will interact directly with customers, suppliers, partners, program management, integration, software, and test engineers. The selected applicant will be a member of a geographically dispersed, high-performing, collaborative team, and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, excellent time-management, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. The team operates in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to support all aspects of product development. The applicant will be expected to actively help the team to continuously improve and develop innovative and creative solutions to products and processes and to coach the team in system design best practices.

• →Collaboration with Responsible Engineers, customer technical staff, suppliers, and Lockheed Martin teammates to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system and software requirements for F-22 avionics sub-systems and weapon system architecture
• →Resolve technical issues through coordination with engineering using established processes..
• →Manage Deliverables by defining plans for risk mitigation, issues, and opportunities; and, monitoring baseline plans to assess project performance, productivity, and lessons learned.
• →Brief customer and program leadership on program status; risks, issues, and opportunities; and help needed.
• →Clearly communicate technical information to other engineers and to management.
• →Support the team as a lead engineer providing coaching/mentoring and constructive feedback to drive high-quality deliverables that meet program milestones.
• →Work closely with cross functional teams in an integrated team environment.
• →Problem solving and supporting other engineers in a team environment.
• →Influence and review performance, specification, and compliance requirements
• →Ensure and demonstrate traceability between the requirements, analysis, and design in digital systems models being developed by Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and practices and the final integrated products
• →Ensure compliance and performance of system design to security and safety requirements and configuration control processes
• →Contribute to defect management and resolution activities.

• A final Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry 
• Level 5 (Lead): 14+ years of work-related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 12+ years of work-related experience with a masters or 9+ years of work-related experience with a PhD
• Travel up to10% of the time

• Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher. (Active within last 2 years)

• Experience in an avionics, integration, and/or a mission systems role
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Experience in the Aerospace Industry
• Experience with supporting a product through an entire development lifecycle
• Experience with systems engineering tools such as IBM Rational DOORS (Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System)
• Experience working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other agile development environment
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
