The Boeing Company is looking for a Mid-Career Material and Process Engineer  to join the Chemical Technology team in Ladson, SC.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate, and Experience Engineer.

This role will be focused on supporting innovative aerospace finishes development and implementation. The successful candidate will be energetic; driven; handy in the lab; able to work under general supervision with no instructions for routine work; and able to work special projects with minimal instruction.

Materials, Manufacturing, and Advanced Production (MMAP) is focused on discovering, developing, and transitioning innovative materials/parts and manufacturing technology into Boeing products. Our highly capable workforce excels in a team environment of challenge and opportunity on multiple projects, and partners with Boeing business units, government customers, global suppliers, and universities to rapidly mature key technologies to production readiness.

Responsibilities

  • →Defines requirements and approves tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of products.
  • →Produces specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes.
  • →Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
  • →Promotes standardization across business activities.
  • →Evaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needs.
  • →Develops and qualifies new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements.
  • →Integrates new technologies as appropriate.
  • →Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements.
  • →Conducts analysis to characterize performance or determine reasons for failure of tools, materials, parts or processes.
  • →Implements corrective and preventive actions.
  • →Designs, develops and qualifies computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements.
  • →Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
  • →Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, materials science, physics or chemistry
  • 1+ years of engineering experience in engineering discipline field
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing environment
  • Experience working as an engineer on a multi-disciplined team with frequent interaction with suppliers and customers

  • 3+ years of engineering experience in engineering discipline field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • 2+ years of experience in paints, coatings, and/or sealant
  • Strong project management skills
  • Familiar with regulated material, material obsolescence, and/or material & process qualification

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range for Associate (Level 2): $91,800 - $124,200

Summary Pay Range for Experience (Level 3): $112,200 - $151,800
