As an Assistant Design Engineer, you will work on the design, development, and engineering services for the Bradken product lines, which include Mill liners and Fixed plant.

You will have strong technical knowledge and will perform solid modelling, detailed drafting, hand calculations, tolerance studies, analysis/simulation, reverse engineering, rendered reports and other engineering activities for Bradken product offerings.
You will adhere to quality standards and investigate product failures to provide feedback for improvements. You will ensure all information about products/specifications is captured in the Product Lifecycle Management System and effectively disseminated to relevant stakeholders and customers.
You will have high attention to detail, you will also prepare technical reports, ensure information is captured in the product management system, and build relationships with internal customers and cross-functional teams. You will identify potential intellectual property and report it to the Engineering Team Lead while performing other duties as directed.
Key Technical Criteria:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification, or relevant hands-on experience
- We encourage candidates with 2+ years of experience, as well as those with comparable skills gained through diverse experiences
- Ability to translate design ideas and requirements into detailed engineering documents/specifications using core mechanical engineering principles and drawing creation
- Experience or exposure to design, development, and/or engineering services for new or customized products
- Familiarity with fabrication, casting processes, and engineering calculations
- Experience or working knowledge in managing and updating engineering drawings, CAD models, Bill of Materials, and technical data in product lifecycle management tools (e.g., NX, Teamcenter – preferred)
- Exposure to rendering tools such as KeyShot is an added advantage
- Knowledge of FEA and CAD automation is a plus
