CHEP helps move more goods to more people, in more places than any other organization on earth via our 347 million pallets, crates and containers. We employ approximately 13,000 people and operate in 60 countries. Through our pioneering and sustainable share-and-reuse business model, the world’s biggest brands trust us to help them transport their goods more efficiently, safely and with less environmental impact.

What does that mean for you? You’ll join an international organization big enough to take you anywhere, and small enough to get you there sooner. You’ll help change how goods get to market and contribute to global sustainability. You’ll be empowered to bring your authentic self to work and be surrounded by diverse and driven professionals. And you can maximize your work-life balance and flexibility through our Hybrid Work Model.

Looking for a leadership role where you can make a genuine impact?

We're seeking a Shift Supervisor - Night Shift to join our Eastern Creek team.

The Eastern Creek night shift is a highly regarded, capable team that consistently delivers strong operational outcomes. We're looking for a visible and hands-on leader who can build on that success while strengthening the team's focus on safety, process discipline and operational excellence.

This isn't a Supervisor role where you'll spend your shift behind a desk. It's a genuinely hands-on leadership opportunity. You'll spend around 70-80% of your shift on the floor with your team, leading from the front, coaching in the moment and making sure everyone goes home safely at the end of every shift.

With significant autonomy and responsibility, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a shift, develop your leadership capability and make a visible impact within one of CHEP's most important operations.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • →Leading a safe, inclusive and high-performing night shift team
  • →Spending the majority of your shift on the floor, working closely with your team and leading from the front
  • →Building a strong safety culture where standards and processes are consistently followed
  • →Coaching team members in the moment and reinforcing safe ways of working
  • →Building trust through consistency, communication and following through on commitments
  • →Maintaining strong performance across safety, quality, service and productivity measures
  • →Holding yourself and your team accountable while creating an environment where people feel supported to perform at their best
  • →Planning resources and coordinating night shift activities to meet operational requirements
  • →Working closely with Team Leaders and the broader site leadership team to deliver operational priorities

  • Experience leading teams within a manufacturing, production, logistics, warehousing or operational environment
  • A genuine commitment to safety and the confidence to challenge unsafe behaviours or shortcuts
  • A leadership style that is visible, approachable and focused on supporting frontline teams
  • The ability to build trust, credibility and engagement across diverse teams
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to set clear expectations
  • Experience coaching, developing and influencing team members to perform at their best
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor or equivalent leadership position is highly regarded
  • Most importantly, a genuine desire to lead from the front and help others succeed

Night shift leadership comes with a unique level of ownership and trust. With fewer leaders onsite overnight, you'll have the autonomy to make decisions, lead your team and drive outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on safety and operational performance.

The team already knows how to deliver. Your opportunity is to bring the leadership presence that helps them deliver safely, consistently and sustainably while continuing to develop your own leadership career.

This role would suit an experienced Team Leader ready to step into a broader leadership position, or an established Supervisor looking for a highly visible and impactful leadership opportunity.

If you're ready to lead from the front, build a strong safety culture and make a genuine impact, we'd love to hear from you.

CHEP Eastern Creek is a welcoming and inclusive workplace where women thrive in hands-on roles. We actively encourage applications from women and people of all backgrounds. You’ll be joining a team that values respect, support, and collaboration.

We know that talent comes in many forms. CHEP welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and neurodivergent individuals. We are committed to creating a workplace where people can bring their whole selves to work and feel valued for their unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives.

Need adjustments during the recruitment process? Whether that's extra time, alternative interview formats, or other support, we're happy to work with you to ensure an accessible and positive experience.
