Brayman Construction is hiring a full-time Senior Project Engineer to assist Excavation and Support of Excavation (SOE) construction at the newly awarded ALCOSAN Ohio River Tunnel Project. This large scale, long-term project is designed to reduce combined sewer overflows (CSO), requiring strong field leadership and rigorous safety oversight. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager and Superintendent in overseeing Excavation and Support of Excavation (SOE) construction projects, which would include contract management, change order preparation, project schedule updating, vendor/supplier management, quantity tracking, production analysis, progress billing quantities/construction units for invoice preparation, resource allocation and coordination, estimating, and material pricing/project buyout.


Responsibilities

  • Coordination sitework between Field Engineers, Superintendents and subcontractors
  • Developing and reviewing work plans and submittals
  • Reviewing field quantities, monthly financial reporting, cost variance analysis and forecasting
  • Manage project takeoffs and documentation
  • Prepare project proposals
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers
  • Develop strong relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, quality control personnel, operations, and management staff
  • Use exceptional organizational skills for effective project management
  • Leverage interpersonal and communication skills for successful task completion

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (particularly Excel)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to new challenges
  • Must be willing and able to travel or relocate as necessary for projects

  • 7 - 10 years of experience in heavy-civil construction projects
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, which may include Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Management or the equivalent experience in the construction industry
  • Experience with various types of heavy civil construction work including, but not limited to, excavation, support of excavation (SOE), near surface construction is preferred.

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis.
