Job Description


JOB PURPOSE

To load and secure goods on assigned vehicles, safely transport the goods to the intended destination whilst adhering to assigned scheduled routes and time schedules, unload the goods and always provide a high level of customer service to our clients.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect and verify all goods for delivery together with delivery instructions to thoroughly ensure orders are properly fulfilled.
  • Oversee the delivery of product and delivery support in transit and return damaged and non-required product to the warehouse.
  • Comply with our truck driving rules and regulations (load size and weight, route designations, passenger restrictions, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Deliver product in a timely and professional manner and communicate delivery delays to warehouse management.
  • Maintain the cleaning, and upkeep of company vehicles, along with reporting of any safety/mechanical issues that may need fixing.
  • Effectively engage with customers during deliveries.
  • Report all accidents, violations, convictions of law and driver’s licence disqualifications to a warehouse manager immediately.
  • Meet with a manager upon return to the office for a delivery debrief and submit all signed COD invoices and cash received.


EDUCATION

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a GED or the equivalent.


JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ heavy truck driving experience.
  • Must hold a valid Bermuda heavy truck driver’s licence (manual).


SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

  • Demonstrate good verbal & written communication skills.
  • Must have basic computer proficiency.
  • Be familiar with methods and procedures for securing goods in or on vehicles.
  • Be professional, polite, and prompt with a commitment to providing our customers with excellent experiences.
  • Ability and willingness to carry out all duties as requested.
  • Ability to follow regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
