We are currently seeking a full-time Project Manager to lead our MTA infrastructure project involving steel structure maintenance and repairs. The Project Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of our projects, delivering exceptional results, and maintaining our commitment to quality and safety.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably in transportation, infrastructure, or structural repair projects
  • Experience working as a general contractor on government projects
  • Extensive experience working with MTA
  • Proven experience with abrasive blasting, industrial painting, steel fabrication/repairs, and concrete/column repairs
  • Strong knowledge of construction principles, techniques, and practices for heavy civil engineering projects
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Advanced level in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.)
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards (OSHA), quality control, and relevant codes
  • Knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD (preferred)
  • Experience with Document Control & Construction Software, such as B2W, MS project, or similar software
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Working knowledge of union labor agreements and jurisdictional requirements
  • Familiarity with MWBE compliance and reporting requirements on public contracts
  • Understanding of Design-Build (preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the project, including abrasive blasting of steel structures, painting applications, steel repairs, and column/concrete repairs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including contractors, subcontractors, and MTA stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Manage project schedule, budget, resources, and ensure compliance with MTA standards and safety regulations.
  • Monitor construction progress, conduct regular site visits, and provide accurate reports regarding project status, issues, and recommended actions, assuring compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • Maintain project files, logs (payment, permits, RFIs, change order submittal, PO, etc.), drawings.
  • Prepare cost to complete reports, labor reports, cost analysis, and budgets.
  • Keep an accurate account of the work quantities performed by the subcontractor and reconcile such quantities with the subcontractor and then the Owner’s representative.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, construction methodologies, and regulations to contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes.
  • Lead project meetings, facilitating effective communication and resolution of issues among team members, and maintain positive working relationships with Owners.
  • Identify, estimate, and negotiate change orders.
  • Draft correspondence related to changed conditions, claims, and delays.
