Logistics Management Specialist II

SUMMARY

The Logistics Management Specialist II will be required to create, review, analyze, assign, monitor,

supervise and execute all logistics-related contractual requirements in the area of military

simulation and training. Responsibilities for this position also include proposal development,

estimating and budget development, allocation, tracking, and other logistic data/documentation.

Incumbent requires limited supervision, guidance and instruction depending on task complexity and

possesses the necessary skills, knowledge and work factors to independently complete assigned

logistics task activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Develop and execute integrated logistics support plans/records, integrated logistics support

analysis, reliability/maintainability/availability (RMA) program plans and other logistic and

technical type documentation e.g., ILSP (Integrated Logistic Support Plan), LMI (Logistics

Management Information) and spare parts lists.

· Prepares status and progress reports as directed and be able to brief Logistics Manager,

Program Managers, and U.S. Government counterparts.

· Creates and presents logistics material for both internal and external design reviews, meetings,

and conferences

· Displays good judgment and creativity in solving complex logistics technical problems and

provides detailed recommendations

· Assists in establishing standards/procedures for integrated logistics support and logistics

support analysis

· Coordinates detailed analyses to ensure the integration of logistics support considerations into

the design process through an integrated product team concept to ensure sustainment goals are

achieved

· Reviews recommended changes to engineering product specifications, CDRLs, SDRLs and

Statements of Work (SOW).

· Reviews and may have signature authority to sign off engineering/maintenance drawing

packages

· Performs as the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manager on assigned program, coordinating supportability efforts and acting as the overall ILS point of contact supporting the customer/ government ILS Manager

· Support engineering in the evaluation of design concepts to determine if concepts satisfy logistics support, reliability, maintainability, testability, workmanship and availability requirements and develops alternate support requirements as required · Coordinates and resolves obsolescence issues

· Responsible for spares provisioning actions from proposal through fielding

· Reviews proposal documentation for ILS impact, creates written technical inputs and oral presentation packages supporting the proposal

· Supports the company CMMI initiatives and proposal development efforts

· Provides mentorship to junior Logistics Management Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree in a technical / business related field with 4+ years of military and or civilian logistics experience

· Detailed knowledge of simulator systems development, Integrated Master Schedule, Configuration Management, Logistic Support Analysis, Integrated Logistics Support, Level of Repair Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Cost Analysis and Strategy Assessment, Reliability & Maintainability modeling-allocation-prediction, technical writing, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals, training, Safety, HAZMAT, technology insertion/refresh, obsolescence and concurrency

· Experience in performing life cycle cost analysis/goals and has experience working with other logistics engineering automated tool such as Windchill Risk and Reliability®, PUB LOG FLIS®, Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE)®, DOORs®, Relex® and OPUS10®

· PC literacy (MS Office Suite ®preferred) coupled with a general working knowledge of data base and spreadsheet applications

· Display excellent business judgment and initiative in considering one or more variables, restrictions, alternatives, trade-offs and conflicting objectives to solve unusual, non-routine problems

· Familiar with GIDEP organization, purpose and implementation

· Read and understand digital and analog electrical schematics, system diagrams and assembly drawings

· Ability to read, analyze and interpret advanced documents and publications · Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations to management and the customer at program/project reviews and meetings

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact well with all levels of customer/team personnel

· PC literacy is required in various software word processing, data base, graphics and spreadsheet applications. Understanding of MRP and oracle databases is essential

· Ability to work with advanced mathematical applications associated with electronics such as algebra, exponential equations, logarithms and basic electronic calculations · Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), and cost estimating

· Ability to define problems collects and analyzes data/documentation, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables

· Must be capable of innovative problem solving, display sound technical and business judgment

· Must exhibit the ability to react quickly to changing priorities and task assignments

PREFERRED SKILLS

· Experience in a military simulation and training environment

SECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources. · Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

· This job operates in an office/classroom environment and in and around electronic equipment, hydraulic equipment and confined spaces. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

· Ability to travel both nationally and internationally

· Ability to ingress and egress simulator boarding ramps/stairs under normal and emergency conditions and access confined spaces in and around simulator equipment · Color perception required

· Ability to operate a personal computer and communicate via e-mail/telephone

· Ability to work overtime as required
