Quick Summary
Yes — I’d put the Polish-speaking
About You: Ability to communicate effectively in Polish and deliver recovery-focused interventions with Polish-speaking service users.
As a Recovery Coordinator (Polish Speaking) supporting the SWITCH workstreams, you will work with individuals in local communities to improve services and achieve positive outcomes for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing stable housing. This includes those who are street homeless, living in temporary accommodation, or facing other housing challenges.
You will support Polish-speaking individuals and other disadvantaged non-UK nationals who may have experienced trauma, substance misuse, or other barriers that affect their ability to secure and sustain housing.
Many individuals may also be subject to varying immigration criteria, which can influence the support available to them. Your approach will be trauma-informed, recognising people’s lived experiences and promoting safety, trust, and empowerment.
Support will be culturally sensitive and tailored, taking into account the needs of minorities within our diverse local communities.
You will provide culturally sensitive one-to-one interventions and recovery planning for Polish-speaking individuals and other non-UK nationals affected by substance misuse, recognising the unique challenges they face, including cultural differences, language barriers, stigma, and limited social networks. In this role, you will act as a key navigator for these interventions, advocating on behalf of service users and supporting their engagement with local services.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Yes — I’d put the Polish-speaking requirement and cultural competence right at the top, because that’s what makes this role different from a standard RC post. Then move into substance use/complex needs knowledge, followed by the practical responsibilities.

- Work with your team and safeguarding colleagues to identify, manage and reduce risks for the people we support.
- Foster a compassionate and inclusive environment where each person is treated as an individual, with flexibility, curiosity and active listening central to our approach.
- 25 days holiday (+ bank holidays) rising by 1 day for each years’ service “Capped at 30 days”
- Paid ‘Wellness’ hour each week along with a ‘Wellness’ hub and Employee Assist Programme
