  • Develops and implements standards-based IEPs and daily and weekly lesson plans
  • Teaches students to acquire academic, self-help, daily living, and social skills, as stated in the standards-basedIEP
  • Works with students, professionals, paraprofessional staff, families, and community partners to ensureappropriate educational habilitation services
  • Serves as a resource by tutoring students in academic subjects, as identified in the standards-based IEP
  • Actively participates in required training, continuing education, professional development activities, and otherlicensure related items to maintain competency and support organizational goals
  • Participates in programs designed to aid in the habilitation and training/treatment of the students
  • Performs varied services including instructional, clerical, supervisory, housekeeping, and behavioral managementduties as they relate to the school day
  • Completes reports on the standards-based IEP goals, skills, and classroom performance of each student
  • Conducts and supervises recreational and life enrichment activities as they relate to the school day
  • Observes, records, and reports the condition and behavior of the students, including maintaining daily records ofevents during the school day, particularly those in the standards-based IEP
  • Directs support staff and RBTs within the classroom to ensure safe environment conducive to learning
  • Consistently implements behavior management plans to reduce clients’ maladaptive behaviors and promoteappropriate social behaviors
  • Shows initiative by identifying solutions to work towards improving stakeholder satisfaction
  • Updates Student Information System daily for attendance, class planning, communication, and record keeping
  • Completes incident reports, including reporting any suspected exploitation, abuse or neglect of a student or client
  • Demonstrates competency through performance checklists in all clinical and administrative areas
  • Provides required 5% supervision to RBTs in the classroom, RBT performance checklists as assigned, and mayfacilitate continuing education or competency assessments
  • Seeks the best use of materials, equipment, and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
  • Effectively uses time management to manage caseload and work assignments
  • Provides ABA program management to clients in a school setting
  • Uses the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and current research to make decisions
  • Remains knowledgeable of each assigned client’s ABA program and its progress and adjusts the treatment planwhen sufficient progress has been made or a lack of progress is seen
  • Follows the direction of the Program Director regarding each client’s profile

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required; Master’s degree preferred
  • BCBA or BCaBA certification required
  • Experience in special education and/or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred
  • Knowledge of education law and standards-based Individual Education Planning preferred
  • Valid Indiana Special Education Teaching License required, or current enrollment in an approved Indiana Alternative Licensure or Transition to Teaching program leading to Special Education licensure.
  • Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) or Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst (LABA) in the State of Indiana required
  • Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
