Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Independently design and develop power electronics hardware platforms or related components, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL, IEEE, IEC, CSA) and customer specifications.
- →Conduct engineering analyses to optimize product performance, cost, and efficiency.
- →Perform detailed failure analysis on design-related issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to improve product quality and reliability.
- →Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure successful integration of designs into production.
- →Participate in design reviews to provide technical input and ensure that designs meet project and customer requirements.
- →Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
- →Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure product designs remain competitive and compliant.
- →Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, promoting innovation and efficiency in the design process.
- →Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance as needed, though leadership is not a primary focus of this role.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- More than 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on electronics packaging, thermal design, or related product design.
- Proficiency with design and analysis tools, including electrical and thermal analysis software (e.g., PTC Creo, SolidWorks, ANSYS).
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., UL, IEEE, IEC, CSA) and regulatory requirements for transformers or components.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working in cross-functional teams.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Experience conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions for design-related issues.
Requirements
~1 min read- Experience with mechanical and cooling solutions for data center applications.
- Experience designing mechanical solutions for high voltage (>=400V) and high frequency applications.
- Proficiency with PTC Creo and its sheet metal and cable design modules.
- Experience with sheet metal design and fabrication, including knowledge of attachment methods such as welding and staking.
- Exposure to cable design and fabrication, with a broad understanding of wire, terminal, and connector selection.
- Exposure to PCB design and basic mechanical placement requirements.
- Ability to lead or follow, as required by the project or situation.
