Electrical Engineer

Location: Pataskala, OH (100% Onsite)

Estimated Salary: $100,000 – $145,000 / year

We are seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to join our team in Pataskala, OH. In this role, you will be responsible for developing high-quality engineering designs for overhead and underground distribution systems, conducting power system studies, and ensuring project execution meets safety, reliability, and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise in electrical distribution design, hands-on experience with power system modeling software, and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with field crews, project managers, and utility stakeholders.

• →Distribution Engineering: Develop comprehensive engineering designs for overhead and underground distribution systems (4 kV – 35 kV).
• →System Analysis: Perform power system studies, including load flow analysis, short-circuit calculations, and protection coordination.
• →Documentation & Estimating: Prepare detailed construction drawings, bill of materials (BOM), cost estimates, and maintain accurate project records.
• →Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs strictly adhere to NESC, IEEE, and client-specific engineering standards.
• →Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support multi-stakeholder projects by coordinating closely with utilities, municipalities, private clients, project managers, and field crews to deliver work on time and within budget.
• →Permitting & Regulatory Support: Coordinate with local permitting agencies and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth project approval and execution.
• →Software Modeling: Utilize specialized engineering software (e.g., CYME, ETAP, PSS/E) for system modeling and design evaluation.
• →Design Optimization: Integrate constructability, safety, and long-term system reliability into every stage of engineering design.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical distribution design or utility engineering.
  • Proven experience working with both overhead and underground distribution systems (4 kV – 35 kV).
• Technical Skills:
  • Solid understanding of power systems, protective devices, and utility construction practices.
  • Proficiency with power system modeling software (e.g., CYME, ETAP, PSS/E, or similar tools).
• Licensure / Certifications: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or the active ability to obtain one).
