Principal Cloud Software Architect - Not an Active Opening, Building Talent Pipeline

The Mission

We are seeking an exceptional Principal Software Architect to join our growing Cloud Native Applications team. The right candidate is someone who has deep expertise in application design and is passionate about working with our customers, partners, and colleagues to drive innovation forward. Your mission will be to work alongside Caylent’s Engineers, Architects, Sales, and Project Managers to deliver AWS solutions across our diverse and forward-thinking customer base. You’ll work with the latest technologies and support customers looking to bring cutting-edge ideas to market.

Your Assignment

• Serve as a technical advisor and thought leader across multiple workstreams and strategic customer engagements.
• Collaborate with clients to understand business goals and design high-impact, cloud solutions.
• Lead discovery sessions, create and present technical artifacts, and define long-term architectural strategy.
• Guide small teams or oversee larger teams through implementation and delivery.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and provide architectural direction across internal and external projects.
• Create and share public-facing content that showcases Caylent’s innovation and technical leadership.
• Support pre-sales through proposal development, scoping, and technical estimation.
• Mentor Architects and Engineers across projects and practices to elevate technical execution and growth.
• Represent Caylent with delivery excellence and deep technical leadership.

Technical Qualifications

● Deep expertise with AWS cloud services.
● Strong experience writing, reviewing, and deploying code using modern languages (Node.js, Go, React, Angular, TypeScript, Python, etc.).
● Technical background in application development and modern architecture.
● Experience managing customer engagements and contributing to project delivery.
● Desire to integrate innovative technologies into development workflow
● Familiarity with Generative AI technologies
● Proficient in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation.
● Experience working in client-facing roles within consulting or professional services.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in consulting or professional services 
• Experience with testing and automation
• Experience or exposure with UI/UX related deliverables 
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLM) and Generative AI
• Experience with app dev acceleration tools like Amazon Q Developer, GitHub CoPilot, Cursor.AI, or similar.
• Experience with other cloud-related solutions
