Ragnar Benson Construction, a MasTec Company, is seeking a driven Project Engineers to support passenger and heavy rail construction, data centers, and commercial building projects across the United States.

 

The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating project documentation, managing submittals and RFIs, supporting scheduling and subcontractor activities, tracking project costs and quantities, ensuring quality control, and assisting with project closeout efforts. Working closely with project management and field teams, the Project Engineer plays a key role in delivering complex construction projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on large-scale projects nationwide while building a long-term career with a leading contractor in the transportation and infrastructure industry.

With almost 40 years of experience in the railway industry, we offer various delivery models, including general contracting, construction management, preconstruction, and design-build services.   • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Civil Engineers, Construction Management, or related field preferred); High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years of experience in Civil or Industrial Construction is required
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. both now and in the future without company sponsorship.  We are a drug free work environment based on Federal guidelines and use E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • →Preparing scheduling of subcontractors on site
  • →Receiving and checking quality of materials
  • →Completing QA/QC checklists
  • →Submittals (material approvals)
  • →RFI’s (general questions)
  • →Preparing official documents for the project, routing and finalizing
  • →Preparing projects reports as needed
  • →Back up documentation
  • →Close-outs final quantities
  • →Proposing/ negotiation extra work
  • →Special projects within the Project Management function as necessary
  • →Other duties as assigned by the Project Management Department
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the Company’s Zero Injury principles
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detail oriented, and good organization skills
  • Ability to communicate well with others, both written and orally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore and Viewpoint
  • Proficient in Windows based applications
