Java Full Stack

Citi is looking for an Intermediate Software Engineer to join our Technology team and play a meaningful role in building, enhancing, and securing the application systems that power one of the world's leading financial institutions. In this role, you will contribute to the full lifecycle of application development — from analysing system requirements and designing solutions to resolving vulnerabilities and supporting production environments. This is an opportunity to work with meaningful technical challenges at global scale while growing your expertise within a high-performing engineering team. ## Responsibilities * Build and enhance application systems by identifying necessary improvements, analysing existing code, and implementing solutions using scripting tools and development frameworks. * Design and apply programming solutions to meet technical specifications, translating requirements into reliable, maintainable software. * Analyse applications to detect vulnerabilities and security risks, conducting thorough testing and debugging to maintain system integrity. * Collaborate with users, clients, and cross-functional technology teams to understand issues and deliver effective programming solutions. * Install, configure, and support customer-facing systems, ensuring stability and a high standard of performance. * Identify and resolve technical problems by drawing on acquired engineering experience, applying sound judgement to select the most effective course of action. * Coach and advise junior analysts, sharing technical knowledge to strengthen team capability and delivery quality. * Uphold risk and compliance standards in all technical decisions, ensuring development practices align with applicable regulations, policies, and ethical guidelines. ## Required Qualifications & Skills * 4-8 years of experience in an application development role within the financial services industry. * Hands-on experience building and maintaining applications using Java Full Stack technologies. * Demonstrated ability to analyse complex technical issues and deliver well-reasoned, effective solutions. * Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Able to manage competing priorities and deliver quality work under pressure or when requirements shift unexpectedly. * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience. ## What We Offer At Citi, you will work within a collaborative, performance-driven engineering environment where your contributions have a direct impact on systems used by clients and teams across the globe.
