We are currently searching for an experienced Traffic Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region located in either Austin, Round Rock, or San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities

→Prepare traffic signal design plans for new intersections and signal modifications to facilitate multimodal accommodations
→Prepare temporary traffic control plan/traffic management plan (TMP) and signing, pavement marking plans
→Prepare streetlight design plan and perform photometric analysis using Agi32
→Prepare technical reports for IJR/IMR, and traffic/safety/road diet studies
→Prepare Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) design plans
→Prepare quantities and develop PS&E packages supporting highway design projects
→Assist in preparing conceptual intersection layouts, schematics, signal timings and engineering reports
→Supervise and mentor junior engineers
→Attend project meetings with clients

Requirements

BS in Civil Engineering
5-10 years of traffic engineering experience
EIT is required
Proficiency in OpenRoads
Familiarity with TxDOT and/or general DOT traffic design standards, MUTCD and AASHTO
Proficiency in traffic analyses software such as VISSIM, Synchro/Simtraffic, Sidra Intersection, HCS
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
