Imagine ending each workday knowing that your compassion, support, and advocacy helped someone take a step toward safety, healing, and a brighter future.

At Catholic Charities, we believe everyone deserves to live with dignity, feel safe, and have the opportunity to thrive. When you join our team, you become part of a compassionate community committed to building hope, restoring dignity, and creating safe spaces for healing.

And we believe finding the right fit starts with a personal touch. Every application is reviewed by a member of our HR team or a trained hiring manager because we know there’s a real person and a unique story behind every application.

Your Work Has Purpose!

As a Domestic Violence Victims Advocate, you’ll be a source of support, strength, and hope for survivors of domestic violence and their children. Through trauma-informed, survivor-centered care, you’ll help individuals navigate difficult situations, access critical resources, and take steps toward safety and independence.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

  • Provide compassionate crisis support. Deliver crisis intervention, advocacy, and supportive services to survivors and their children. Assess individual needs, develop safety plans, provide information and referrals, and connect individuals with essential resources.
  • Be an advocate when it matters most. Accompany and support survivors as they navigate courts, law enforcement, social services, medical providers, housing resources, and other systems that can help them build safer, more stable lives.
  • Help keep survivors safe around the clock. Participate in assigned 24-hour hotline and emergency response services, providing crisis support, safety planning, referrals, emergency assistance, and coordination of safe housing when needed.
  • Help create a safe place to heal. Support the day-to-day operation of our domestic violence safe dwelling, helping maintain a clean, welcoming, and supportive environment for adults and children. Responsibilities include preparing resident rooms and common areas, managing laundry and household supplies, coordinating food and donations, following cleaning and pest-management procedures, and assisting with minor household upkeep.
  • Every interaction is an opportunity to remind someone that they are not alone. Your work will help survivors feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward.

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay: $20.00–$22.00 per hour
  • A consistent weekday schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:00 PM
  • 35 hours per week
  • Meaningful work: The opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of survivors and their children
  • A mission-driven team: Work alongside people who believe in compassion, dignity, and the power of human connection
  • Please note: Subject-to-call shifts may be required.

Minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1–3 years of experience in mental health, substance use services, or human services
  • Experience supporting individuals through challenging life circumstances, a commitment to treating others with dignity, and the ability to respond with compassion are valuable qualities for this role.

Turn Your Compassion Into Action!

You don't have to change the whole world in a single day. Sometimes, changing one person's day—and helping them take the next step toward safety and independence—is where it begins.

If you're ready to bring your skills, heart, and dedication to a team that makes a difference every day, we'd love to hear from you!
