Responsibilities

  • →Safely operate company-owned toter trucks to transport manufactured homes and oversized loads to customer home sites.
  • →Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate documentation of vehicle condition, equipment, and deliveries.
  • →Communicate roadway conditions, route challenges, traffic hazards, and delivery updates to transportation team members.
  • →Lead the pickup, transportation, delivery, and the onsite positioning of manufactured homes at designated customer locations.
  • →Maintain driver logs and all required transportation records.
  • →Assist with unloading activities and provide support during home placement and setup.
  • →Safely transport and deliver manufactured homes using specialized transportation equipment, including house tugs, platypus systems, and other equipment used in home delivery and setup operations.
  • →Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of Class A CDL Truck Driver driving experience required.
  • Experience in machine operation and transporting oversized loads, manufactured homes, construction materials, or preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, electronic logging devices, and transportation safety requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with escort drivers, and jobsite personnel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Candidates must meet all company driving standards and requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and safe driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must successfully obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Health Card).
  • Must comply with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and DOT regulations.
  • A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, DOT drug screen, and other applicable screenings will be conducted as part of the pre-employment process.
  • Applicants are subject to ongoing drug and alcohol testing as required by DOT regulations.

 

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and work around transportation equipment and manufactured homes for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding work while assisting with deliveries, unloading activities, and home placement operations.
  • Ability to enter and exit commercial vehicles frequently throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.

 

Work hours can vary based on delivery schedules, job site conditions, travel, and project needs.  Flexibility is important, as some days may finish earlier while others may require additional time to complete the job safely and efficiently.
