Industrial Maintenance Mechanic III – Wastewater

Clemens Food Group is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Maintenance Mechanic III to support our Wastewater Treatment operation in Hatfield, PA. Mechanic III is our highest mechanic level and is designed for experienced maintenance professionals who can independently troubleshoot equipment, determine root causes, and make effective repairs.

This is not an entry-level maintenance position. You will work hands-on with pumps, valves, motors, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, belts, chains, piping, and other industrial equipment essential to keeping a large pork manufacturing wastewater operation running safely and reliably.

As a Mechanic III, you will be expected to go beyond replacing parts. You will diagnose failures, determine why they occurred, make repairs, and help improve long-term equipment reliability.

• →Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain industrial mechanical equipment and systems
• →Maintain and repair pumps, valves, actuators, motors, bearings, belts, chains, conveyors, and drive systems
• →Diagnose mechanical failures using root cause analysis and determine the appropriate repair
• →Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, regulators, flow controls, filters, and dryers
• →Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication to reduce equipment failures and unplanned downtime
• →Fabricate, weld, drill, tap, mount, and install mechanical components as needed
• →Read and interpret mechanical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, flow diagrams, and equipment manuals
• →Perform basic electrical troubleshooting involving motors, wiring, start/stop circuits, and contact blocks, including safely wiring 460V three-phase motors
• →Use a multimeter to check resistance and current
• →Respond to equipment breakdowns and partner with Wastewater Operations to identify recurring problems and improve equipment reliability
• →Document maintenance activities and preventive maintenance work through our CMMS

We are looking for an experienced industrial maintenance mechanic with the technical depth and judgment to work with a high degree of independence.

• 5+ years of industrial or mechanical maintenance experience
• Strong hands-on experience with pumps, valves, actuators, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and mechanical drive systems
• Advanced mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, and control circuits
• Ability to safely work with and wire 460V three-phase motors
• Ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, and equipment schematics
• Experience with preventive maintenance and equipment reliability
• Ability to independently prioritize repairs and make sound maintenance decisions in a fast-paced industrial environment

Experience with welding, fabrication, machining, industrial plumbing, CMMS systems, wastewater treatment equipment, rendering, food manufacturing, or other heavy-process environments is highly valued.

Our Wastewater Treatment operation supports a large-scale pork manufacturing facility, treating process water and organic material generated through manufacturing and related operations.

This is an industrial wastewater environment and is not a clean or odor-free work setting.

Candidates should be comfortable:

• Working around wastewater, organic material, process by-products, and strong odors
• Working in areas that may be wet, humid, hot, cold, or dirty
• Working around pumps, tanks, piping, treatment equipment, moving machinery, and wastewater treatment chemicals
• Getting dirty when troubleshooting or completing repairs requires it
• Wearing required PPE and following established safety and Lockout/Tagout procedures

The work can be demanding, but it is critical to the safe and reliable operation of our wastewater treatment process and broader manufacturing operation.
