Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to support a comprehensive technical audit of pipeline installation and associated facilities within the Oil & Gas sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation systems to ensure they comply with engineering specifications, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices. The role involves assessing system integrity, reliability, safety, and overall readiness while identifying opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Conduct technical audits of electrical and instrumentation systems installed along pipeline infrastructure.
- →Review engineering drawings, electrical schematics, instrument loop diagrams, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
- →Verify compliance with project specifications, IEC, IEEE, API, ISO, and other applicable engineering standards.
- →Assess electrical distribution systems, power supply, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS systems, and field instrumentation.
- →Evaluate instrumentation systems including transmitters, analyzers, control valves, sensors, actuators, and field devices.
- →Review calibration records, testing reports, commissioning documentation, and maintenance records.
- →Assess the functionality and reliability of control systems, emergency shutdown (ESD) systems, and safety instrumented systems (SIS).
- →Identify non-conformities, technical risks, installation deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
- →Coordinate with multidisciplinary audit teams, including mechanical, pipeline, SCADA, and HSE specialists.
- →Prepare detailed technical audit reports, findings, recommendations, and final documentation.
- →Participate in site inspections, stakeholder meetings, and technical review sessions.
- →Ensure all audit activities comply with HSE requirements and client quality standards.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Demonstrated experience in pipeline projects, oil & gas facilities, or industrial infrastructure.
- Experience conducting technical audits, inspections, commissioning, or integrity assessments is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA interfaces, control systems, and industrial automation.
- Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, API, ISA, and ISO engineering standards.
- Ability to review engineering drawings, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, loop diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Experience working on EPC/EPCM projects is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software used for electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and engineering excellence.
