Construction Safety Specialist

Oceanport, NJ | Full-Time | CMI

Compliance Management International (CMI) is hiring an experienced Construction Safety Specialist for a construction project in Oceanport, NJ. This is a long-term career opportunity for a hands-on EHS/Safety Professional with strong construction, MEP, OSHA compliance, and field safety experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide daily construction safety / EHS oversight for contractors and subcontractors
  • Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, hazard assessments, and observations
  • Review JHAs/JSAs, Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), permits, toolbox talks, and safety documentation
  • Coach trades and contractors on OSHA compliance and safe work practices
  • Monitor MEP, electrical safety, NFPA 70E, LOTO, fall protection, scaffolding, confined space, hot work, excavation, cranes, rigging, and material handling
  • Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses and track corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926, client requirements, and site-specific safety programs

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years of construction safety experience
  • Strong MEP construction safety experience preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards
  • Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction required
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED
  • Strong hazard recognition, communication, coaching, and field leadership skills
  • Ability to work overtime and Saturdays as project needs require
  • Reliable transportation
  • Preferred: CHST, STS-C, ASP, CSP, OSHA 500, NFPA 70E, or safety/EHS degree
