As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll embed with our largest city and agency customers, starting in New York City, and make Cyvl indispensable to how they run. You'll configure the platform against real agency data, prototype custom outputs and integrations with AI coding tools and our API, and find the next problem we can solve for them. This is a strategic growth role that looks like an implementation role, and you'll write the playbook for how we operate in every major US city that follows.   Own key city accounts: onboarding, training, and ongoing enablement across field operations, technical teams, IT, and agency leadership.

  Build and deploy solutions: configure Cyvl against agency data and workflows, and prototype custom outputs and integrations using Claude Code and Cyvl's API.

  Drive expansion: surface budget cycles, RFPs, and unmet needs, and support proposals and renewals with technical depth.

  Build durable adoption, so Cyvl never depends on one champion's memory or enthusiasm.

  Build the FDE playbook: onboarding sequences, integration patterns, expansion triggers, and ROI frameworks that scale to new cities.

• 5+ years in a client-facing technical role (solutions engineering, technical account management, implementation, or similar), ideally at a B2B SaaS company

• Experience managing enterprise accounts with many stakeholders, long cycles, and real organizational complexity

• Hands-on with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar), enough to build working custom outputs, not just spec them

• Fluency in SaaS and API concepts, and comfort with IT conversations on SSO, integrations, and data access

• Credibility in a room with a field operations lead, a city IT team, or an agency commissioner

• Based in, or willing to relocate to, New York City or San Francisco

• Government or municipal client experience, including procurement and budget cycles

• GIS, geospatial, LiDAR, or infrastructure asset management experience

• A track record of expanding accounts, not just retaining them

• Appetite to build and lead a team as the FDE function grows

• Hard problems in the real world. You build end-to-end: our own hardware, software and AI, with work that shows up on the street in the real world.

• Ownership that compounds. You own outcomes, not tasks. You work directly with customers and across our team, and you'll own more, sooner, than almost anywhere else.

• Own without a playbook. The plan is still being written, often by you.

• Show up where the work is. This role is based in New York City or San Francisco. You'll be on-site with customers regularly and with the team in Somerville for the moments that matter like onboarding, kick-offs, and milestones.
