About the Role
Our client is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer specialised in Rancher / SUSE products to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and designing our Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, containerised applications, and cloud infrastructure using industry best practices. Other tools and tasks include Terraform and enhancing the scalability, reliability, and security of our DevOps ecosystem. You’ll collaborate closely with software engineers, QA specialists, infrastructure teams, and project stakeholders to ensure seamless application deployment and consistent environment performance across development, staging, and production. This role requires a proactive mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong passion for DevOps and cloud-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deploy, manage, and scale Kubernetes clusters using Rancher in cloud and hybrid environments 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Rancher, Kubernetes nodes, workloads, and networking
  • Maintain high availability and fault tolerance of Rancher-managed clusters
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Argo CD, or similar 
  • Automate deployment workflows for microservices and containerized applications 
  • Version control all infrastructure-related code and promote GitOps methodologies 
  • Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog 
  • Implement DevSecOps practices to ensure secure deployments and infrastructure hardening 
  • Manage secrets using tools like HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, or Kubernetes Secret 

 Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with Rancher RKE2 or K3s for lightweight or edge cluster management
  • Experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure automation roles 
  • Proficient with Kubernetes architecture, Helm, ingress controllers, and service meshes
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Argo CD, etc.)
  • Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps and containerization
  • Familiarity with SUSE NeuVector for container runtime security and network policy enforcement
  • Hands-on with SUSE Longhorn for cloud-native distributed storage in Kubernetes environments
  • Advanced Kubernetes networking: CNI plugins, service meshes (e.g., Istio, Linkerd), ingress configuration, network policies
  • Ability to travel within the region
