Our client, a world leader in biotechnology and gene therapy, is looking for an “Mechanical Engineer I” based in Santa Clara, CA. Job Duration: Long Term Contract (Possibility Of Extension) Pay Rate : $52/hr on W2 Company Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Sick leave, 401K Seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support the development of consumable fluidic devices for next-generation single-molecule DNA sequencing technology. This hands-on role involves flowcell manufacturing, process development, device assembly, component testing, metrology, and engineering support in a collaborative R&D environment. Key Responsibilities: Support flowcell manufacturing, assembly, and process development for consumable fluidic devices. Assist with SolidWorks design activities and engineering documentation. Perform dimensional, mechanical, and surface metrology measurements, data analysis, and reporting. Conduct component testing, quality inspections, and sample preparation for external analysis. Manage component inventory, shipping/receiving, and laboratory support activities. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support project milestones. Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 0–2 years of industry experience; hands-on laboratory or engineering experience preferred. Proficiency with SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets. Experience with microfluidics, microfabrication, materials characterization, metrology, or microscopy is a plus.
